Bohemia 21/11/1862 published news that ‘Tomorrow afternoon, 5 o’clock the Russian Chamber Virtuoso Mr Demetrius con Swětschin with Miss Katharina Summ give a concert in the Konvikt Hall in which Miss Brenner will also participate. The concert tickets are printed with Cyrillic lettering.’ The specified time of the concert may have been mistaken; the Tagesprogramm published by Bohemia 22/11/1862 reported ‘7pm. In the Konvikt Hall: Concert of Mr von Swětschin and of Miss Summ.’
The unsigned Dalibor 1/12/1862 review of this event remarked that the concert ‘did not have in itself any great interest, for it contained only the usual salon [works] and, so to speak, worthless pieces. Mr Svěčín performed Alard’s Fantasie on themes from the opera „Němá z Portici“, Sonata for piano and violin of Thiele and Duo for the same instruments by Herz and Lafont. About the playing of Mr Svěčín we outlined already following his first concert that he arranged during the summer, and now we only may add that he performed the compositions entirely convincingly and showed himself to be a solid violinist.’ Miss Summová ‘performed a difficult Fantasie by Kontsky [probably the Polish pianist and composer of salon music, Antoni Końtski] with bravura and also displayed in the other pieces [in which she accompanied Svěčín] notable technical ability and many of the characteristics of an excellent pianist.’ The solo vocalist, Miss Johanna Brennerová sang ‘with splendid success.’ The size of the audience attending the concert ‘was not large.’ Although the review ended by reporting that Svěčín was considering arranging a concert in the Czech Provisional Theatre, no performance was given by the violinist at that venue
This event was not covered by the German-language newspaper Prager Morgenpost. The pianist Miss Summ most likely provided the accompaniment for the Fantasie by Alard and the aria from Le Duel.
