Except for the chorus Těšme se blahou nadějí (Blissfully let us hope) which was mentioned only by the unsigned review published in Dalibor 1/11/1861 as having been given on this occasion, the programme is reproduced in order according to the detailed Dalibor 20/10/1861, Národní listy 20/10/1861 and Čas 20/10/1861 reports. The subsequent Dalibor 1/11/1861 review did not cover the entire performance, for instance, the choruses directed by Maýr were not mentioned. Of the originally programmed choral works, the chorus Válečná which also required four solo singers may not have been given, since the review noted that the vocalist Josef Reichel, listed as a soloist in this work by the previous reports, was unable to participate due to ill health. The other soloists to have performed in this work were August Appé, Jan Ludevít Lukes, and Karel Strakatý.
The Dalibor review enthused about the various solo performances, and pronounced the beseda a great success. Slight criticism was made of Miss z Ehrenbergů for not singing an original Czech item [the songs by Krebs and Ricci were Czech translations], and the performance by Lukes of Fr. Škroup’s Za dnů mladosti (From the days of youth) was considered less satisfactory than might have been expected. This was attributed to his having to replace the originally intended soloist, Reichel, at short notice. After the concert portion of the beseda dancing took place. Národní listy 13/10/1861 noted that the beseda was intended as a benefit for fire victims in Mirotice and Lhotice. Čas 20/10/1861 noted that the beseda was in aid of fire victims in Mirotice and Lhenice, and that admission tickets could be obtained at the inn ‘At the Blue Star [u modré hvězdy]’, 2nd floor, no.74, from 9am-6pm. Admission to the occasion cost 2zl. Národní listy 16/10/1861 reported that singers who wished to participate in this production were invited to attend the first rehearsal, held on 18/10/1861 at 6pm in the hall of the Cecilia Society.
