The unsigned Dalibor report gave no further details about this occasion or the participants, but noted that Josef Holub, the director of the chorus at Sv Havel, had ‘demonstrated again his compositional talent, and especially his skill at voice leading, which we actually noticed a year ago in his chorus Na Sněžce (On Sněžka hill).’ Unfortunately, Holub was never to fulfil his early promise. According to Dalibor 10/5/1862 he summoned a carriage to transport him to hospital and along the way ingested a fatal quantity of phosphorus matches.
