Josef Holub

Holub, Josef (1823-1862). Czech organist, composer and choir director. Pupil of the Prague Organ School (1850), then director of the choir at Sv Duch [Church of the Holy Ghost] (1854) and Sv Havka [St Guy] (1855). He was also teacher of song at the Žofín Academy. According to Lumír 8/5/1851, Holub died at the city’s general hospital on 2 May from drinking acid.
