Mercy’s Anzeiger 7/6/1854 reported that during the festival visit of their Majesties [the Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elizabeth], on 7th June in the Arboretum would if the weather was good take place a great Musical production [eine große Musikproduktion]. In the case of unfavourable weather or in the event of any unforeseen circumstance, the event would take place on Friday 9th June.
