Josefa Schmidt-Procházková
Schmidtova Procházková
Schmidt-Procházková, Josefa (?-1867). Czech singer. Appeared numerous in rôles as mezzo-soprano or contralto in the German Estates Theatre between 1858 and her death in 1867, and also participated in performances in the Czech Provisional Theatre. Active too in Prague concert life, and from 1862 was also engaged at the court theatre in Meiningen. Prager Morgenpost 12/12/1863 related that she had been made an honorary member of the Prague Military Music Institute (Society for the Advancement of Military Music in Bohemia).
