Initial news of this event appeared in an advertisement published by Prager Morgenpost 22/10/1858. This gave the date, time, venue and title of the event, and noted that members and their wives were invited. Members were requested to bring their membership cards in order to gain admittance.

The brief news article published in Morgenpost 23/10/1858 noted that ‘On account of the rich and interesting numbers assembled in the programme the members are to expect an exceedingly entertaining evening.’ No further details of the event were given. A further report appeared in the same newspaper on the next day, 24/10/1858. This related that the entertainment was ‘exquisitely magnificent’, was aso attended by many ladies, and continued until after midnight. The programme was not specified although the participants were listed. They comprised the actress Mrs Allram-Lechner [Lechnerová] and the singers Misses Brenner [Johanna Brennerová] and Schmidt [Josefa Schmidtova], the Kapellmeister of the Estates Theatre Josef Neswadba [Nesvadba], the singers Albert Eilers, F. Fektér and Karel Strakatý, as well as Michl and the clarinetist Julius Pisařowitz [Pisařovic].
