Commentary:

The programme is reproduced in performance order, according to the Národní listy 1/1/1861 report. Prager Morgenpost 1/1/1861 also published news of the event and listing the works to be given. Except for the overture and the two unidentified concertos, all of the works were noted as ‘Preis’, signifying that they had been prize-winning compositions recently written for the forthcoming dance season. These compositions, as well as the fact of their inclusion in this performance event, were reported by Prager Morgenpost 3/1/1861 as having just been published by Christoph and Kuhe in a ‘Preisalbum’ for the 1861 Carnival.
