Mercy’s Anzeiger 2/11/1854 reported that ‘The first great Production of the Civil Orchestra [Civilorchesters] established by Kapellmeister Mr F.W. Swoboda [Svoboda], that was to take place on 4th November in the Hall of the Žofín Island, is now resheduled to 14th November. At this opportunity it is to be noted that the aforementioned is in no way connected with the Military Music Society [Militar-Musik-Verein] similarly founded by Mr F.W. Swoboda.’
