The Národní listy 24/9/1861 report did not specify the works to be performed, but listed the participants. They comprised the vocalists Miss V.A. Blažková, Miss E. Miková, A. Appé, Bernard and Krén, the clarinettist Jul. Pisařovic, and ‘Bauer’ [probably the oboist J.F. Bauer].
The daily entertaiment almanac of Čas on 23/10/1861 listed ‘In the Konvikt Hall: Beseda.’ This newspaper published a brief, unsigned report on 25/10/1861. The correspondent related that ‘The beseda taking place the day before yesterday in the Konvikt was not as pleasing in the concert part from the point of view of its success as the previous, with the exception of Miss Blažková, who performed some folksongs with magnificent success; “Holubinka” in particular was distinguished with such originality, that after the song she was many times curtain-called many times. Mr Šamberg also tried hard to cheer up the public with the antiquated declamation “Jakou bych rád”, but the programme as a whole was not wholly satisfactory. But after it the youth were more pleased with the dancing, which continued after the concert part; the Polish Mazur in particular gained great favour.’
This beseda was not covered by either Prager Zeitung nor Prager Morgenpost. Bohemia 1/10/1861 reported that ‘(The Autumn Besedas) take place now in the newly refurbished Konvikt Hall on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th October, then on 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th November. At the start of each Beseda [will be a] concert; arranged by Kapellmeister Mr Mayr [Maýr], followed by dances.
