Bohemia 12/7/1850 published advance news of this event, reporting that on Monday 15th July, unless the weather was unfavourable, a ‘großes “Austria-Fest”’ would take place in Zdekauer’s Garden. Three bands of Imperial Infantry Regiments, namely of Dom Miguel, Baron Wimpffen and Airoldi, were to perform the newest and favourite compositions. A particular attraction of the event was noted to be the presentation by the organizer, Mr Just, of a piano compendium of three new compositions written by Kapellmeisters Whit, Rosenkranz and Lippert especially for this occasion to the Ladies as they were admitted to the garden. No further details of the occasion were related by this source.
The Tagesanzeiger text of Bohemia 14/7/1850 contained details of this event, specifying the date, venue, that the event would take place in the afternoon, and the title ‘Austriafest’.
