komentář:

Mercy’s Anzeiger 22/8/1854 reported that at 10am on 18th August to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty [Franz Josef] a festival mass with a Te Deum was given by members of the Institute for the Accommodation and Employment of the Adult Blind [Versorgungs- und Beschäftigungsanstalt] in the church [chapel] of St Raphael. Officiating over the occasion was the Very Reverend Capucin Mr Sorgenfrei. The correspondent noted that the singing of the blind was ‘excellent’. At midday the pupils of the Institute enjoyed a substantial meal, before which they sung the national anthem.

The Czech-language periodical Lumír 19/8/1854, reporting upon events given to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor, noted that after a religious service members of the Institute for the Blind had enjoyed a magnificent luncheon. No further details were given by this source.
