Typ akce: Popular social musical and dance events
Datum: 21/11/1858 5pm
The large advertisement published in Prager Morgenpost 21/11/1858 announcing this dance entertainment in the Apollo Hall was almost certainly describing the same dance entertainment as was noted in the day’s Tageskalender appearing in Bohemia 21/11/1858. The latter noted the presence of Walesch’s Orchestra at that venue; the regularly performing ensemble at events in the Apollo Hall on Sundays in the autumn of 1858. This particular event was given under the attractive guise of celebrating the Festival for the nameday of Katherine, on 25 November.
The Morgenpost advertisment noted that the event would include the performance of a ‘Solo-Polka’ and a ‘Solo-Czardacz’ in national costume. The event was organized by the dancer of the German Estates Theatre, Franz Hetz and by Johann Stuchly [Jan Stuchlý], the ‘restaurateur’. Admission for gentlemen cost 42kr purchased in advance if they were accompanied by a lady and 63kr without. Tickets at the door cost 53kr and 79 kr respectively depending upon whether the gentleman was accompanied or not. The event was due to end the following day, i.e. in the early morning.
