komentář:

A review, signed ‘-ý.’, of this event was published by Prager Morgenpost 14/4/1862. Reporting that ‘A concert singer from London, Mr Karl Eibenschütz, was heard today in the Konvikt Hall’, the correspondent noted that so many such performers were now appearing in Prague that they had to be extraordinary in order to make a particular impression. Eibenschütz was thought to be disadvantaged in this respect, and his performing style was criticised for being unremarkable. Despite his attention to detail, his performance was thought to be unexceptional. Following the aria by Mozart and the song by Veits, the other three works he performed were considered to be more suited to performance in a soirée than at a large-scale public concert. They were not identified by the reviewer. Also participating in the concert were Miss Brenner [Brennerová] and the violoncellist Mr Popper. This was noted to have been a final opportunity for the Prague public to hear the latter in concert. ‘He played a Fantasie on Russian songs by Servais, cleanly and not without expression... his playing, or rather the performance only lacked a degree more enthusiasm.’ A declamation, Die weissen Rosen was performed by Mr Hallenstein. The concert ‘despite the unpopular time of day was quite numerously attended, showing sympathy on the part of the publis for Mr Eibenschütz and Mr Popper. The works given by Eibenschütz were noted. The ‘Prozessaria’ of the Count from Figaro was evidently performed in German
