The large advertisement appearing in Prager Morgenpost 14/11/1858 advertising this Ball in the Apollo Hall was almost certainly describing the same dance entertainment as noted in the day’s Tageskalender in Bohemia 14/11/1858. The latter reported the appearance of Walesch’s Orchestra at that venue; this was the regularly performing ensemble at events in the Apollo Hall on Sundays in the autumn of 1858.

The Morgenpost advertisment noted that the event would include the performance of a ‘Solo-Czardacz’ and a ‘Solo-Tiroler-Tanz’ in national costume. The event was organized by the dancer of the German Estates Theatre, Franz Hess and by Johann Stuchly [Jan Stuchlý], the ‘restaurateur’. Admission purchased in advance for gentlemen cost 42kr if they were accompanied by a lady, and 63kr if they were alone. Tickets at the door cost 53kr and 79 kr respectively depending upon whether the gentleman was accompanied or not. The event was due to end the following day, i.e. in the early morning.
