An advertisment was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 11/1/1857 drawing attention to the comfortably furnished ‘Café-salon on the 1. Floor’ in Eisengasse [Železná ulice], in which very good drink was available. The text announced too that on Sundays and Tuesdays ‘a favourite SEXTET’ can be heard there, and that the venue would remain open past midnight on those two days during the carnival season. No further details were given by this source. The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 27/1/1857 made no mention of this event taking place on 27th January.
