Mercy’s Anzeiger 5/1/1857 reported that ‘The choir director Mr Ulm will perform tomorrow Tuesday in the Church of the Holy Ghost at 11am the great Pastoral Mass in D major by Führer, as well as a graduale by Krejčí and offertorium by Bieler.’

Comment upon this event was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 8/1/1857. The correspondent remarked how ‘It is beautiful to note that the younger gentlemen choir directors of our city still concern themselves with the elevation of church music, despite their commanding barely adequate resources and having [to go to] trouble and self-sacrifice to implement their very commendable aspirations. So yesterday we were surprised by the choir director Mr Ulm with a very successful performance of the Pastoral Mass in D major by Führer in the Church of the Holy Ghost [heilige Geistkirche / Sv Ducha], for which he deserves all the more recognition as in this church are seldom executed church compositions demanding numerous resources.’
