• Piano Institute of Karel Hodyc: pupil(s) of institute

The Tagesneuigkeiten section of Prager Zeitung 7/1/1851 published news of this event, entitled a ‘“musical Soirée” although in reality a musical trial of [pupils of] the local Little Quarter Music Institute of Mr Hodiz [Hodyc]’. The Institute was said to be renowned for its proficient director as well as for its pupils, who ‘demonstrate very promising musical talent.’ The method of teaching resulting in ‘effective and tasteful’ performances was commended, although not described.
