The Tagesanzeiger text of Bohemia 2/2/1851 listed the date and venue of this event. The date of the ball had also been noted in the Tagesanzeiger texts of Bohemia 10/1/1851 and 12/1/1851, in conjunction with news of the musical trial for the occasion, which had been held on Sunday 12th January in the Spa Hall. According to an advertisement first published by Bohemia 1/1/1854, the Ball was originally scheduled for 25/1/1854.
