• FEIGERT, Friedrich: dance master

News of a series of four dance-reunions arranged by Feigert was published by Bohemia 1/1/1850. They were to be held during the carnival season on 15, 22, 29 January and on 5 February, all in the Konvikt Hall. Attendance of these ‘favourite’ dance entertainments was noted to be always very numerous [beleibt und zahlreich besucht]. The first of these productions was noted by the Tagesanzeiger texts of Bohemia 13/1/1850 and 15/1/1850 to be taking place in the Konvikt Hall on the evening of 15 January.

Bohemia 20/1/1850 published a brief review of the first reunion, noting that ‘The first Carnival-reunion of Mr Feigert in the Konvikt Hall was very numerously attended, and the elegant [geschmackvoll] of the Hall as well as the well chosen composition of the Dances brought the impressario [Unternehmer, lit. entrepreneur] much acclaim. The entertainment continued in a jovial, sociable spirit until 4am.’
