The Prague German-language newspaper Tagesbote aus Böhmen 14/6/1857 reported: ‘For the benefit of the Emperor Franz-Joseph Fund for clothes for poor schoolchildren [Kaiser Franz-Joseph-Stiftung für Bekleidung der armen Schuljugend], there are arranged four Dance Reunions in conjunction with garden parties, taking place on the island of Groß-Venedig [Štvanice], namely on the 16th, 23rd, 30th June, then on 7th July.’
