The Tagesanzeiger daily almanac of Prague social and musical events published by Prager Morgenpost 21/11/1863 noted: ‘Musical Soirée [Musikalische Abendunterhaltung] of the Officer Corps of the here garrisoned Artillery Regiments on the Žofín Island.’ An advertisement also appeared in this issue of the newspaper, announcing: ‘Today and each successive Saturday arranges the worthy Officer Corps of the here-garrisoned Artillery Regiments in the Hall of the Žofín Island a musical Evening Entertainment [Abend-Unterhaltung]. Commencing 6 o’clock. Admission free.’
