Advance information about a forthcoming ‘Narrenabend’ [Fools’ Evening] to take place during the 1864 Carnival season (on 26th January) was related by Prager Morgenpost 15/11/1863. The report noted the date of the event and in humorous fashion related how participating fools were to turn up in costume and commented upon the frivolous entertainment and mayhem that would ensue. The event would include the singing of ‘the old Lied: Von der Weibertreue and the modern: Von französischer Treu und Glauben.’
