Národní listy 18/1/1863 reported, in a text signed ‘-m.’, that a ‘Musical trial to the National beseda on 9th February will certainly take place today at 4pm in the Hall of Žofín Island.’

Bohemia 19/1/1863 reported that: ‘(Yesterday’s Musical rehearsal) for the National Beseda [National-Beseda] drew the attendance of an unusually numerous audience, who listened attentively right until the end to the dance pieces performed by the musical ensemble of the „Sokol“, and demonstrated their general approval in very animated fashion. Each of the pieces were received with copious applause.’ No further details of this event were given by the source.
