• Orchestra of the Prague Sokol Gymnastic Society: participating orchestra

Národní listy 31/12/1862 published an advertisement announcing: ‘In [the] Slav Café plays today musical ensemble of „Sokol“ to celebrate Sylvester.’ The advertisment was signed by the restauranteur of the venue, František Unger. It was noted too that excellent tea, delicious coffee and other choice refreshments were served to guests.

Two further advertisements were published in this issue of Národní listy noting events in which the Sokol ensemble was performing on this date. Whether these events were all at different times or the Sokol orchestra split into smaller groups playing at the different venues is not apparent from these reports.
