• Orchestra of the Prague Sokol Gymnastic Society: participating orchestra

Národní listy 31/12/1862 published an advertisement noting: ‘In Café „At the Eagle“ [u Sokola] plays today to celebrate Sylvester music „of Sokol“ [i.e. the musical ensemble of the Sokol Gymnastic Society].

Two further advertisements were published in this issue of Národní listy noted that the Sokol orchestra was also playing on the same evening at the Civic Society [Měšťanská beseda] and in the Slav Café [Slovanská kavárna]. Whether these were all at different times or the Sokol orchestra split into smaller groups playing at the different venues is not apparent from these reports.
