Národní listy
3/1/1863 published an unsigned review of this event, reporting: ‘Musical rehearsal to the dance entertainments of the Prague Sharpshooters. On 1st January took place in the Žofín Hall the musical rehearsal to the dance entertainments and to the ball of the [Royal] warranted Sharpshooters ensemble under the direction of Mr Kapelník [Kapellmeister] František Horák. The performance of the programme was in its entirity magnificent beyond expectation. Of the compositions, of which almost all had to be encored, the most likes was the Kvapík „Bouře“ of the Kapelník himself, which had to be repeated twice. Apart from that, excelled most of all the Třasák [Polka tremblante]
Víno a láska“ [Lieb’ und Wein] of Strauss, then Serafínina polka“ of the same and Amalínina“ Polka mazur by the conductor [Horák]. Even such other numbers as Čtverylka, à la cour“ [Quadrille à la cour] by Faust – Rosalínina“ Polka by Preis – Kikiriki“ Kvapík [Galop] by Ambrož – Vídeňská chronika“ [Wiener chronik] by Jos. Strauss a Čtverylka [Quadrille] Ilka“ were received with applause.’

The composer of the Quadrille Ilka cannot be indentified. The programme is listed in order of the works being described by the Národní listy review.

Prager Morgenpost 27/12/1862 reported that
‘The local Civic Sharpshooters Corps is once again arranging during this year’s Carnival several Reunions [Reunionen - dance entertainments] and a Ball. The musical trial to these takes place on New Year’s Day.’
