Commentary:

The correspondent writing the Dalibor 1/11/1860 review, signed ‘E.N.’, remarked that this concert was magnificently successful, relating that ‘The soloist completely satisfied all the demands of the audience. In Mr Seeling we meet a modest but universally educated virtuoso, who seeks more in the internal content of a work and its comprehension, than in outward brilliance. His playing resembles the sea without its ebb and flow, yes, the sea without storm, on which under the calm September moon he happily voyages; in this there lies something of originality and enchantment, which deeply touches the listener.’ The programme is reproduced in order corresponding with this source.
