News of this event was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 14/3/1857. The source reported that ‘Sunday 15th March at 8am the Prague Catholic Apprentices-Society [Prager katholischen Gesellen-Verein] gives for its benefactors on the festival of its patron St Joseph in the Capucin Church of St Joseph in the New Town a celebratory Mass, in which thanks will be given to Her Majesty the Empress Maria Anna for the most gracious gift of the Society-banner, and a Mass [Volksmesse] by the Cathedral [St Vitus] Kapellmeister Mr Johann Skraup [J.N. Škroup] will be sung.’
