St Josef’s Church. Monastery church of Capuchin order constructed between 1636 and 1653. A new organ was installed in this church during the summer of 1854, an account of the completion of work being published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 3/8/1854. This recorded that the work had been overseen financially by the Superior of the church, Fulgentius, and artistically by the organist there Josef Gruß. According to this report a public trial of the instrument would be given in the next few days. The specification of the instrument was also noted: ‘a. Manual. 1. Bordunflöte 16' – 2 Principal 8' – 3 Hohlflöte 8' – 4 Octave 4' – 5 Superoctav 2' – 6 Quinta maj. 3' – 7 Mirtur 4sach 1½'. b. Oberwerk. 1. Salicional 8' – 2 gedeckt 8' – 3 Principal 4' – 4 Flauta dulcis 4' – c. Pedal. 1 Violon offen 16' – 2 Subbass gedeckt 16' – 3 Octavbass offen 8' – 4 gedeckt 8'. d.
