Mercy’s Anzeiger 21/2/1857 published a brief review of this event, relating that ‘In the Apollo Hall took place on Thursday the Ball of the non-commissioned officers of the Royal Infantry Regiment of Baron von Wernhardt. The Hall was very appropriately decorated with flags and very brilliantly lit. The society was of the most jovial manner until the close of the ball, to which contributed both the excellent playing of the musical ensemble of the said Regiment personally directed by the very zealous Kapellmeister Mr Jeschko [Ješko], and his newest dance-compositions amongst which was the Polka “Prager Faschings-Devisen” that gained a particular success. The Ball was attended by His Excellency the Royal Estates-Commandant F.M.L. Count Clam-Gallas.’
