An advertisement for the forthcoming ‘Kränzchen-Balle [Garlands Ball]’ was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 24/1/1857 and repeated on 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31/1/1857, and on 3/2/1857. This source constituted an announcment by the Ball Committee that gentlemen’s admission cards to this annual event to be held on 3rd February were available from the Guest house ‘at the Golden Angel’, room 64, daily from 11am to 1pm. Information could be obtained from the porter. On 29/1/1857 the daily news section of the newspaper reported that the ‘Committee for the Saturday musical Garlands was also this year arranging a Garlands-Ball [Kränzchen-Ball] on 3rd February. The ball-committee has opened a dedicated Ball-Bureau in the Golden Angel from where gentlemen’s admission cards could be obtained.’

An advertisement had been published in Mercy’s Anzeiger 3/1/1857 reporting that on ‘Sunday 4th January in the Apollo Hall will take place the musical trial for the Kränzchen-Ball. Compositions will be played by the ensemble of the esteemed Infantry Regiment Archduke Ernst under the leadership of Kapellmeister J. Buřínsky.’ The same ensemble and director most likely featured in the Ball itself, and as such have been incorporated into the database event record for 3rd February.
