Commentary:

Mercy’s Anzeiger 5/5/1854 published a notice announcing ‘Great orchestra of the Royal Military; afternoons. On the Žofín Island: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday; in Zdekauer’s (formerly Count Canal’s Garden): Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday; in the Estates Arboretum: Sunday and Thursday.’ No further details were given by the source.

Mercy’s Anzeiger 10/6/1854 reported that ‘In the former Count Canal’s Garden will take place today for the Festival for the Visit of Their Royal Majesties to Prague, a great music production [Musikproduktion] under the title “Folk- and Flower-Festival [Volks- & Blumen-Fest]” performed by the musical bands of the Royal 24th Rifles Battalion and the First Prague Civil [Musical] Ensemble. For this festival, which begins at 4pm, 800 flower bouquets have been prepared for the ladies.’
