A notice, signed ‘J.’, was published by Bohemia 26/1/1851 describing the success of this event. The text stated that on Tuesday 21st January the dance-loving Prague had delighted in the evening of the Society Ball arranged by Mr Ružička in the Apollo Hall. This ‘most tastefully decorated Hall’ boasted brilliant lighting which on entering the venue provided ‘an astonishing sight’. The text continued by noting that ‘Mr Ružička’s general popular renown was on this occasion again evident: from the numerous select society present in the spacious room of this magnificent Hall’, that the occasion was directed to the best of order, and that it was hoped many more such evenings would be given.
