News of the success of the event was published by Tagesbote aus Böhmen 29/11/1857. The report related: ‘The Ball arranged for the benefit of the Private Society for the Support of the Prague Poor house realised a clear profit of 5586fl.’ The source then noted that the previous year’s profit had only amounted to 600fl.
