In conjunction with a report upon the performance on 25/7/1857 of Veit’s Mass in D major in the Church of St James with the resources of the Prague Conservatory and Estates Theatre, the Prague German-language newspaper Tagesbote aus Böhmen 26/7/1857 then proceeded to note that on the same day [and almost certainly in the same venue – the director Krejčí was at that time choir master at the Church of St James] in the ‘Afternoon at 5 o’clock was given for the closing ceremony of the Church festival a new Te deum in D major, op.30, by Jos. Krejčí that is conceived [in an easy style] for performances in the provinces., with a Vespers in G major by Jos. Schnabel.’
