News of these examinations given by Šimák’s was published by Prager Morgenpost 18/7/1863. The source related: ‘Examination production [Prüfungsproduction]. In the Music Teaching Institutr of Mr Friedrich Šimak [Šimák] in the Little Quarter nr.272-3 will take place the annual examination on Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th July, soecifically on the Saturday at 4.30pm, Sunday at 3pm. The programme is very interesting, and contains works by Schulhoff, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, Heyden [Haydn].’ No further details were given by this source.

The Tagesanzeiger almanac of daily Prague social events published by Prager Morgenpost 19/7/1863 noted: ‘Afternoon: Music production of the Music Institute of Mr Schimak.’
