Mercy’s Anzeiger 29/12/1854 published an advertisement announcing entertainment on New Year’s Eve at the Café Buresch. The source stated that for the Sylvester evening the venue had secured for its patrons ‘Russian tea, the finest Punch and Rum... a choice Sextet, fine beverages and quick service...’ No further details of the occasion were announced. The advertisement was published in parallel German and Czech texts. The German text was signed ‘Johann Buresch, coffee blender [Kaffeesieder] in Dominikanergasse.’ The Czech text was signed ‘Jan Bureš, owner of café in Dominican Street [v dominikánské ulici].’ The advertisement was published again in the issue of Mercy’s Anzeiger 30/12/1854.

The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 31/12/1854 reported ‘Today Sunday... in the Buresch’s Coffee house (Dominikanergasse [Dominikánská ulice])... Concert’. No further details were given by this source. Earlier in the year, Mercy’s Anzeiger noted the performance of Březovský’s Sextet at this venue on Sundays. An advertisement published in Mercy’s Anzeiger 6/10/1854 announced: ‘In the newly renovated Cafe of Jan Bureš [Kaffee des Johann Buresch], in Dominikánské ulici, plays on Friday from 4pm until midnight the excellent Sextet of Mr Černý, and on Sunday also until midnight the no-less splendid Sextet of Mr Březovský.’ Most likely the ensemble continued performing at this venue throughout the rest of the season on this day of the week.
