An advertisment published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 10/10/1854 announced that: ‘Every Wednesday: Ilchmann’s Quartet in Café Retzer, Korngasse [Žitná ulice] Nr.171-2.’ The source also related that the newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung was available to customers at the venue from 1st October. This advertisment had first appeared in Mercy’s Anzeiger 3/10/1854 and 4/10/1854.

The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 20/12/1854 reported ‘Today Wednesday... in the Retzer’s Café Concert’. No further details were given by this source.
