An advertisment published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 10/10/1854 announced that: ‘Every Wednesday: Ilchmann’s Quartet in Café Retzer, Korngasse [Žitná ulice] Nr.171-2.’ The source also related that the newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung was available to customers at the venue from 1st October. This advertisment had first appeared in Mercy’s Anzeiger 3/10/1854 and 4/10/1854. Interestingly, this event was not listed in the Vergnügungsanzeiger of daily events published by Mercy’s Anzeiger on 11/10/1854.
