Bohemia 5/8/1862 reported that a requiem service would be given on Friday [8/8/1862] at 10am in the chapel of St Rafael of the Seminary Institute for the Adult Blind for the magistrate Joh. Rozkošný [Jan Rozkošný], who had died on 2/7/1862. The correspondent related that Rozkošný was at first a contributing and later a honorary member of the Institute who in his will had bequeathed to it the sum of 100fl. This same news was published in a similarly worded report published by Národní listy 5/8/1862, relating: ‘Friday 8th at 10am will be observed at St Rafael church [chapel] of the Institute for the Accomodation and Emplyment of Adult Blind [Prague Seminary Institute for the Blind] a solemn religious service [Requiem] for JUDra. Mr Jan Rozkošný, who died on 2nd July, and who engaged himself zealously in the service of the Institute.’ Neither of these sources reported upon the musical content of the service.
