• Prague Conservatory: pupil(s) of institute

In news dated 25/7/1861, Prager Zeitung 26/7/1861 reported that ‘The annual public examinations for the pupils of the Conservatory of Music will take place today, tomorrow and the day after in the Institute’s Hall, on Monday and Tuesday of next week in the Hall of Žofín Island, and on Wednesday and Thursday in the Institute’s Hall, all will be in the morning.’ No further details of the two events on Žofín were reported by the Národní listy 26/7/1861 text, nor of the events taking place in the Hall of the Conservatory. This source reported simply that ‘Yesterday at 8am the public examinations for the Prague Conservatory began, and which continue in the following days. On Monday and Tuesday [29th and 30th] will be in the Žofín Hall productions of the two instrumental classes, and on Thursday 1st August examinations in song.’ The earlier days possibly comprised theoretical examinations.
