• Music Institute of Bedřich Kirchner: pupil(s) of institute, pf

Lumír 9/4/1857 published a report, signed ‘-k.’, announcing the impending half-year practical examination for pupils of the Karlín music institute of the piano teacher Bedřich Kirchner on 13th April. The institute, it was noted, had recently begun its new school year. Of the programme the source related that ‘Among other works will be played compositions by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Heller and one more original composition by Mr Kirchner. The music institute in Karlín is certainly welcome to the local public, for it affords the young the easy opportunity to learn music. In Prague there are now 11 institutes for pianoforte and 2 institutes for song.’
