Mercy’s Anzeiger 9/1/1857 reported that ‘The Reunions arranged in the Bürgerressource [Měšťanská beseda], the first of which takes place on Monday 12th January, number among the most brilliant festivals of the Carnival [season]. The management and arrangements by the ball committee, comprising the most energetically working young gentlemen... is elegant and expedient and leaves nothing to be desired. The performance of dance music is assigned to the doughty orchestra of Mr Komsak [Komzák].’

On 15th January Mercy’s Anzeiger published a brief, unsigned review of the event. This related that the first dance-reunion was brilliant in all respects. The exceedingly elegant and very rich decoration of the venue [the rooms of the Bürgerressource - Měšťanská beseda] with flowers, statues etc found universal acclaim, also the very fairly equipped Toilette [rest-room] satisfied the taste of the ladies. The entertainment was very animated, and for the dancing there was sufficient room for free movement... The next Reunion takes place on Monday 19th January.’
