Tagesbote aus Böhmen 17/1/1854 reported that ‘On 25th January takes place in the Konvikt Hall a brilliant Ball-festival [Ballfest] under the title: “A Ball-night in Elysium [Eine Ballnacht im Elysium]”. The Hall will be decorated for this Ball by Mr Bendel’. On 22/1/1854 the newspaper reported the date and venue for this same event, albeit titled ‘A Masked-Ball in Pictures and a Ball-night in Elysium [Ein Maskenball in Bildern und eine Ballnacht im Elysium’. Bendl [not Bendel] was reported to be providing ‘Maskenbilder und Karrikaturen [lit. make-up and caricatures]’.

Tagesbote aus Böhmen 27/1/1854 published a brief unsigned review noting that ‘A Ball-night in Elysium [Eine Ballnacht im Elysium]’ gained a numerous attendance and the arrangements for the occasion ‘left nothing to be desired.’
