Advance news that Schulhoff was to perform in the Estates Theatre during his visit to Prague was reported by Bohemia 14/5/1850. The newspaper related that ‘Mr Schulhoff will given some concerts in the Theatre. The contract with the theatre director Mr Hoffmann is already closed.’ Evidently only one such performance was arranged, with Bohemia 21/5/1850 next reporting on Schulhoff that the concert to be given by him ‘today’ in the Theatre would be his last in Prague. The programme ‘promises to be interesting.’ No further details were given by this text. The Tagesanzeiger text of Bohemia 21/5/1850 noted ‘Evening in the Theatre: Concert of Mr Schulhoff. Beforehand: “Jadest” [a play, with] Mr Deetzals as guest.’ This was not the pianists final appearance in Prague; on 30th May he played before the Empress [Marie Anne] in a private soirée.
