Kommentar:

News of this event was published in an advertisement appearing in Prager Morgenpost 9/10/1858. This noted the title, type, date and venue of the production, stated that the orchestra consisted of 40 musicians from the ‘esteemed’ band of Baron Allemann [Alemann], and that admission was 6kr per person. The Tageskalendar of Bohemia published in the issue of 9/10/1858 related that on this day music would be given by Alemann at a Dance entertainment taking place on the Schützeninsel [Střelecký ostrov] and that the afternoon’s musical entertainment in the garden of Count Canal would feature the Infantry Regiment of Baron Wernhardt. Given the publication of the substantial, paid advertisement, the Prager Morgenpost advertisement is assumed here to be the more accurate record. If the dance entertainment given on Střelecký ostrov occurred during the morning of 9/10/1858, as was sometimes the case with daily dance events, the ensemble of Alemann may well have appeared at the two different venues that same day.
