• Orchestra of the Prague Civil Sharpshooters Corps: participating orchestra

Bohemia 17/12/1858 published news that dance events, ‘Schützenreunionen’ [Shooters Reunions], were to be held on 22 January and 12 February, and ‘ein eleganter Schützenball’ [an elegant Sharpshooters Ball] on 7 March in the Žofín Island Hall [Sophieninselsaale]. However, an advertisement appeared in Prager Morgenpost 14/1/1859, and was repeated on 16, 18 and 19/1/1859, noting that tickets for the Sharpshooters Reunions taking place on 20 January, 10 and 24 February and to the Ball on 7 March, could be obtained from the offices of the Sharpshooters. This same advertisement was updated for the later events in this series and was published in Prager Morgenpost 2/2/1859 and on later dates.

The dates of these Sharpshooters dance reunions were also confirmed in a report appearing in Prager Morgenpost 15/1/1859, which noted too that the venue was the Sophieninselsaale [Žofín Hall]. Hence the information first published about these events by Bohemia 17/12/1858 was inaccurate.
