Details of this series of charitable events were published by the German-language Prague newspaper Tagesbote aus Böhmen 9/8/1857. The report appearing in this related: ‘The Mayor’s Office in Karlín is this year again arranging four Garden parties with dance reunions [Gartenfeste mit Tanz-Reunionen] for the benefit of the Institute for Infants and for the Workhouse, which will take place on 12th, 19th, 26th and 2nd September. With the charitable cause we expect, as from previous years, that the event will attract a substantial audience.’ No further details were given by the source.
