Národní listy 16/4/1863 reported upon this event, noting: ‘Beseda. In benfit of Smíchov Library the Committee [for the Library] are arranging on Wednesday 29th April in the salon of the Inn „at the Golden Angel“ [u zlatého anděla]. Admission will be 2zl.’ No further details were given of the occasion, which almost certainly would have included a musical element. Similar benefit beseda events had been given for the same cause during late 1862. The source then went on to print an apology for having previously related news of an amateur theatre performance in Košíře which the newspaper had mistakenly asserted was in aid of a local cause but which was actually a benefit for the Smíchov Library.
